Both Gi and No-Gi classes included in one membership. All experience levels welcome. Black belt instruction every single class. Your first session is always free.
Gi Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
Gi BJJ is the traditional form of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, practiced wearing a heavy cotton uniform called a kimono or Gi. The fabric creates unique gripping opportunities and forces technical precision — you can't rely on athleticism alone when your opponent has handles on every inch of your body.
Training in the Gi builds an incredibly deep technical game. The grips slow things down in a way that demands body mechanics, leverage, and strategy over speed and strength. Most BJJ practitioners agree: if you can make something work in the Gi, it will work everywhere.

Class Structure
Every Gi class follows a consistent structure designed to maximize learning. We warm up as a group, cover technique in detail, drill it with a partner, and then finish with live rolling where you apply what you've learned under pressure. Each session is 60–75 minutes.
Class sizes are capped at 15 students — intentionally. That means when you roll, when you drill, when you need feedback, your coach is actually watching you, not just shouting from across a crowded mat.

No-Gi Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
No-Gi BJJ is practiced in athletic shorts and a rash guard — no uniform required. Without the Gi, there are no lapels or sleeves to grip, which changes everything. The game becomes faster, more athletic, and more reliant on body control, neck ties, and underhook battles.
No-Gi is excellent as a standalone practice and as a complement to Gi training. Many students find it easier to start — no uniform to buy, nothing to get tangled in, and the faster pace makes it feel immediately dynamic. It's also the primary format for submission grappling competition and MMA ground work.

What to Bring
No-Gi is the easiest class to walk into on day one. Wear athletic shorts (no pockets, no zippers — they catch skin) and a fitted rash guard or compression shirt. That's it. No equipment to buy before you try.
Your membership includes unlimited access to both Gi and No-Gi classes at no extra cost. Most students train both formats and find their games improve faster as a result — the Gi teaches precision, No-Gi teaches athleticism, and together they create complete grapplers.
Included in Membership
$185/mo covers unlimited access to all adult classes — both formats
What to Wear
No pockets or zippers. Fitted compression preferred. Board shorts also fine.
Everyone Welcome
No experience, no fitness level, no flexibility required. We structured our classes so anyone can walk in on day one and know exactly what to do.
One hour of BJJ burns 400–600 calories while building functional strength, flexibility, and cardio. Students routinely transform their fitness within months.
BJJ is the most proven martial art for real-world self defense. Most confrontations go to the ground — BJJ gives you genuine tools for those situations.
We compete under IBJJF rules and support students who want to test themselves on the competition mat. Kaizen's instructor is an active IBJJF black belt competitor.
BJJ demands presence. You cannot worry about your inbox while someone is trying to take your back. Students report lower anxiety and better sleep within weeks.
The mat is a great equalizer. Your training partners become some of the most genuine friendships you'll form as an adult. People stay for the BJJ — and the people.
Your Path
Month 1–3
You will tap — a lot. That's not failure, that's the process. You'll start learning basic positions: mount, guard, side control. You'll begin to understand why some positions feel comfortable and others feel suffocating.
Month 3–6
Something starts to click. You begin recognizing patterns. You stop reacting and start thinking. You tap less often against newer students and start feeling what leverage actually means in your body, not just your head.
Month 6–12
Your game starts to take shape. You have go-to positions, favorite submissions, and a sense of what you're working toward. Your fitness has transformed. You might start thinking about competing — or you might just love training. Both are perfect.
Year 1+
You're a BJJ practitioner now. There's always something to refine — that's the beauty of the art. You'll never run out of things to improve. That's not frustrating. That's what keeps people training for decades.
